Library Book

I have been amazingly lax in listing Zorah's reading materials here. If I had her comment on every book she read, we'd be at the computer all day pulling bits of information from her. We borrow 20 to 30 books at a time from our library, a good mix of picture books and chapter books. She reads on the way home and reads at home until they are all finished. The most time this process takes is three days or so. Then she rereads them until we go back to the library.

One picture I particularly liked in all the books she has read is of this fellow. He is the big ugly monster in the book The Big Ugly Monster and the Little Stone Rabbit by Christopher Wormell. I personally have mixed feelings about the book. It is about a monster so ugly that he can make no friends. He makes statues of woodland creatures, but he is so ugly that all but one of them break, a rabbit, which is his companion until he dies. So is this a hopeful book about finding friendship where one can get it? Or is it a horrible book about how no one will like you if you are unattractive? Anyway, the illustrations are great, and the monster is, to my mind, endearing.
